Who We Are
Vision-Jwala or ‘blaze of fire’ is a non-profit, self-funded organization that stems from the idea revolutionizing the status of women in India. Jwala was started as a movement by a group of resilient and self-made women, led by Dr. Divya Gupta in 2012 as a result of Nirbhaya Case in Delhi.
Mission-Rabindranath Tagore envisioned a country where “the mind was without fear and the head is held high”. This has been a part of school curriculum since ages but never made an impact in changing the mindset of Indian Society. Women are still oppressed and are living their lives under the notion of shunning their individual existence for others.
Its’ time we change that. Its’ time that spark within turns into the Jwala that women are meant to be. It is time that every girl who lives in fear of being a victim knows that this time Nirbhaya will survive, fight against the odds and rise from the ashes like a phoenix.
Jwala aims towards being the voice of the change for women and hence has a versatile list of programme that are directed towards shaking off their fear and enabling them to be self dependent in every walk of life.
